Trading Shadows
Trading Shadows
What if they found out what I did?
What if they knew who I really was?
What if they could read my thoughts?
Each dark secret held in our heart is a heavy load. We think we are safe in the shadows, keeping things to ourselves, but they hold us captive with our fears of discovery, rejection, abandonment, and shame.
But, what if you could live free, even if they knew?
Trading Shadows tells an intimate story of a southern girl growing up in the shadows
of shame, and secrets, her desperate search for love and belonging, and an occurrence
which cost her everything. A marriage was shattered, a career
destroyed, family and friends were alienated, and dignity was lost.
In that search, she discovered deeply guarded family secrets. Those years in the shadows robbed her entire family of peace, mental and emotional health, and a deep level of
intimacy with every subsequent relationship - especially with God. Dana’s story can help
you navigate through your own shadows.
Dana Russell’s journey has spanned many decades, searching for the secret of real joy in her life. For many years it seemed illusive running her from one bad experience to another. You may identify with some of the open, honest ways she shares her experiences. After many years filled with heading in the wrong direction, Dana finally discovered there is only one way to true joy – by trading the shadows of depression, fear, and doubt for the joy of trusting in the Almighty.
Trading Shadows is a powerful account of God’s grace at work. It’s the most transparent and honest book I have ever read. You will be challenged to face your fears and inspire change, overcome your dark secrets, and live a life of freedom. It’s a must read.
